Day 1 - Arrival

Where:
Welcome to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, surrounded by Apus spirits of the mountains.

Itinerary:

Retreat opening with introduction to Andean tradition of Despacho offering to Pachamama (Mother Earth) led by Master Healer, Pampamisayoc of the Andes, wisdom keeper of the Incas.

Visit to Inti Watana archaeological site, considered an astronomical observatory by the Incas
Along path appreciating colorful villages, and agricultural terraces dating back to 15th century
Group dinner and brief explanation by your guide for the next day

Day 2

Begin Temazcal
Summary about the Temazcal: Ancestral pre-Hispanic ritual practiced as natural medicine by the natives of central Mexico, its name comes from the Nahuatl Temazcalli.
The Temazcal has a beautiful structure consisting of 4 doors praying to the four directions and to elements.
During ritual white copal, volcanic stones, medicinal herbs, drums, and maracas are used.
The four doors represent different periods of life: birth, childhood, maturity, and elders. We honor life and symbolically die to be reborn again.

Day 3

- Paru Paru Community
- Huachuma Ceremony
- Sacred Lakes Hike

Where:
Pisac – Paru Paru Community– Kinsacocha & Pumacocha Lakes

Itinerary:

Hydration and light breakfast.
Depart to Paru Paru
Arrive at a local family's temple for an introduction to Wachuma Ceremony (San Pedro cactus)
Begin hike towards Kimsa Cocha and Puma Cocha Lake, supported with the spirit of nature, breathing fresh air, feeling the tranquility of mountains, and connecting to our inner peace.
Average time of hike: 4 hours
Difficulty level: moderate

At the end of hike, we'll re-visit the community of Paru Paru enjoy a lovely organic dinner prepared by natives.
Return to hotel and have a fire closing of ceremony.

Travel to Ollantaytambo (1hr 20min bus ride) experience impressive view of Inca fortress with more than 200 agricultural terraces. Head to the station where we will board train to Aguas Calientes.

Day 7

- Machu Picchu
- Sacred Valley

Where:
Aguas calientes – Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo – Sacred Valley

Itinerary:

Awaken with majestic mountains.
Breakfast.
Depart to Machu Picchu.

Guided tour around temples, palaces, living quarters, and enjoy free time to wander around connect and meditate on this masterpiece of Inca architecture. Machu Picchu was built around 1440 AD as a country retreat for Incan nobility, however there is evidence it had been a sacred Incan site for much longer.

Return to Aguas Calientes for lunch at recommended restaurant by tour guide.
Station - board train to Ollantaytambo, bus return to the Valley.

Note: We recommend showing up at the train station 25 minutes prior to its departure to Ollantaytambo.

payment and questionnaire:

Participants are required to submit payment to secure registration in the retreat. Answer questionnaire, this allows organizers to get to know the participants better, understand personal interest and intentions for attending the retreat.

Coordination Call:

After registration has been received, we will schedule a call to go over personal information you have provided and address any questions that may be present. Submit picture of passport and flight information. Destination to Cusco, 1 to 2 day arrival prior to retreat suggested for body to acclimate in altitude.

Legal Waivers and Agreements:

Retreat organizers require participants to sign legal waivers and agreements acknowledging the risks associated with participating in the retreat and releasing the organizers from liability for any injuries or adverse experiences.
